A storm overtakes Chichagof island and threatens the safety of the Brown Family as they set out on a journey to bring home a new addition to Browntown, while oldest brother Matt returns home for a fresh start.

Matt has killed a deer in the wilderness. But his mission is not fulfilled, because many black and brown bears live in Southeast Alaska. The predators have an excellent sense of smell and sense a carcass with its fine nose several kilometers away. Say: It is only when the resettler has dragged the 60 kilos of hunting to "Brownstown", he is safe from the hungry omnivorous. Matt's brothers and sisters are mixing wall paint in the forest - from berries and mud.

"Brownstown" is supposed to grow and prosper, so family leader Billy forges great plans in Alaska. The "Bush People" live in the northernmost state of the state of what nature offers them. But they need fuel for the power supply and their tools. The transport of gasoline is tedious and dangerous - particularly in winter with ice and snow. That is why the wildernesses want to build a windmill on Chichagof Island. With this alternative energy source the "Wolfsrudel" would be completely independent.

The Browns want to buy a boat, but the financial resources of the "Wolfsrudel" are limited. That is why the resettlers negotiated a deal with the owner of the watercraft. Instead of pushing cash on the table, the wilderness is supposed to do two assignments for the freight forwarder from Hoonah. First, Billy and his sons are transporting two 150-kilo heavy-bodied tanks to Port Alexander. And then they take off a waterplane with the "Trinity" off the coast of Prince of Wales Island.

Half the family hangs spewing over the railing, because the browns have fallen into a storm on the open sea. And catering on board the "Integrity" also leaves much to be desired. Except for a few breakfast ingredients is hardly left over. Nevertheless, the resettlers continue to pursue Prince of Wales Island, where they are to carry out an order for a freight forwarder. The island in the south-east of Alaska has a lot of memories with Billy, Ami and the children, because the "Wolfsrudel" has lived on the island for ten years

The 34-year-old Matt builds a freezer in the wilderness, where the emigrants can bunk their meat supplies. Because on Chichagof Island many hungry bears wander around. Noah, Bear and Gabe are now taking care of the family's new flagship project: the improvised wind power plant is supposed to supply the "Wolfsrudel" off the beaten track with civilian power - six kilowatts for the time being. But during the installation of the huge apparatus underlies the brothers in Alaska a following error.

Saw work and a hungry bear keep the adventurers in Alaska powerful. The predator has ransacked the food supplies of the emigrants, and without flesh Billy and his family do not come across the winter. That is why Bear and his sister Snowbird break into the wilderness to hunt game. Matt and Gabe, meanwhile, roll up their sleeves in Brownstown to organize 12 cubic meters of timber for a barter. When everything runs smoothly, the brothers receive a turbine for their wind turbine.

Fresh bear traces near the camp place the "Alaskan Bush People" on Chichagof Island in alertness. Obviously the animal has not been eating enough bacon before the winter's rest. But there is very little time for wilderness dwellers to find and drive the robber, since the family's new windmill is an absolute priority. If Billy and his sons succeed in assembling the missing spare parts before the ground completely freezes, this would be an important step towards independence.
