Aging artist Veronika Grønnegaard comes to see Signe Larsen at the flower shop where she works, intent on revealing a secret that will turn Signe's life on its head.

While Gro arranges her mother's funeral, she still hasn't told her brothers about her mother's plans for the family home. Signe considers what to do about the letter from Veronika.

Signe confronts her parents about her past, Gro meets with investors regarding the launch of the museum at the family mansion and Frederik sees Veronika's ghost.

Frederik tries to strike a deal with Signe, Lise attempts to reconnect with her daughter, Gro confesses her feelings for a married man and Emil grows desperate for cash.

The family hold a meeting to discuss the future of Gronnegaard. But Frederik confronts Gro after suspecting her of forging Veronika's signature on the foundation documents.

After rejecting Frederick's settlement offer, Signe heads to Gronnegard to find the transfer of ownership contract she gave to Gro.

The trial to determine the future of the Gronnegaard estate begins. Signe, Andreas, Gro, Lise, John and Robert take to the stand as Frederik fights for his inheritance.

The Grønnegaards move out of the family home. Frederik shares a great confession, and his daughter Hannah discovers Solveig and Emil's secret.

Emil is desperate to find money to pay off his debts. Gro makes a play to get her career back on track.

Emil goes to Thailand to sell his resort. Frederik tries to rediscover passion with his wife. Andreas feels left behind by Signe's plans.

A naming party is just round the corner, and Grønnegaard is filling up with people lending a hand in the preparations. In the midst of this hustle and bustle, Signe is also busy with her farming, and she feels challenged by the alternative way of life at the manor. Gro is busy organizing things with respect to Emil's trial in Thailand, creating pieces of art from Veronika's old works in the basement. Frederik is still struggling with respect to Solveig's infidelity and, hence, the family has moved to new surroundings to start afresh. Though Emil has been released on bail, the sentencing is a long time coming. Despite his freedom from the prison cell, the uncertainty is nevertheless taxing for his patience.

Emil is experiencing prison hardship. After solitary confinement, he now needs to find his place in the prison cell among the Thai prisoners. Gro is shocked by the news about Emil, and she has no other options than to ask Frederik for help. Frederik is in two minds about Gro's cry for help, as he refuses to be mixed up in Emil's affairs - but, then again, he is after all his younger brother. Signe's industrial hemp farming prospects seem fine, but being part-time mother for Melody together with the rest of the Grønnegaard inhabitants puts pressure on her; and she still has to prove her worth within the hemp trade.

Gro and Frederik have left for Thailand to help Emil. They have to tread warily, if they are to succeed in getting Emil released. Frederik hides his agenda for Gro, and his meeting with Emil in the prison proves decisive for Emil's future. Signe's fields are challenged by nature; and, once again, she has to resort to creative means in order to succeed. Her visions are also threatened by her financial circumstances, and therefore the coming appraisal of Veronika's oeuvre is of decisive importance to her and Grønnegaard's future.

Emil returns from his Thailand nightmare whilst Frederik battles with the way he's dealt with things lately and Signe is forced to evaluate her way of life at Gronnegaard.

Frederik's mental state plummets as fast as Signe's problems mount on the estate. Elsewhere Emil and Gro investigate Veronika's remaining unseen masterpieces for their own financial gain.

Gro gets some exciting though risky news from Kim, Signe busies herself on the estate but is then forced to concede her bedroom after a car accident involving Emil, Thomas and Isa whom they've led astray.

Gro rushes to the hospital to support Thomas and his diagnosis has repercussions for the future. Meanwhile back at Gronnegaard Gro's dealings with Veronikas art bring Emil and Frederik closer as they battle to keep the family's good name in one piece and them all out of jail!

The four heirs have made peace with the past and each other. After Thomas' death, Emil is bringing up Melody at Grønnegaard, where his niece Hannah also lives with her group of artists. Signe lives with boyfriend Aksel most of the time, her ecological farming is doing well, and she is developing business ideas. Gro has created an exhibition space for young, progressive artists in the Art Hall, where she and Hannah intend to challenge the established art world. Frederik has been living in the USA, building a successful and lucrative career, and is now ready to make peace with Solveig. But his family has evolved, and is he really ready for what's waiting for him when he comes home?

At Gronnegaard, Emil is getting ready for Melody's birthday. Meanwhile, Frederik tries to prove his worth and regain the trust of the family following his absence.

Gro questions how much support she can give her young artists, while Emil attempts to console Frederik, who is determined to lash out at those around him.

The fallout from Hannah's death continues to haunt her parents, particularly Frederick, who clashes once again with the young artists collective. Kim has more bad news for Gro, whose career woes make her decide to take a much-needed break. Signe's pig farming project moves a step closer when she outwits her feuding neighbour, and the young artists also benefit.

Frederik and Pitus's work starts to bear fruit, but they are treading a fine line on the edge of the law. Meanwhile, Signe's business starts to gain momentum.

Signe is reconciled with Karin, but she soon has new problems when Aksel gets an offer that affects their future. Meanwhile, Emil and Gro disagree about Melody's upbringing.

At Gronnegaard, Frederik is preoccupied with defending the family against the charges brought by the youths. Meanwhile, Signe is forced to confront some locals.

The confrontation with the locals eats away at Signe but when Emil returns to Gronnegaard, he takes charge of cultivating unity on the farm.

Signe's future promises to take an unexpected turn and she must make a decision that will affect everyone at Gronnegaard.
