Fallen soap vixen Faith Fairfield creates high drama after moving in with her straitlaced sister and her family.

The sisters attend the funeral of a long-forgotten aunt to pay their respects--and to swipe back the ring she took from their mom years earlier. Back at home, Charley handles an alarming situations with the home-security system and Hayley's middle-child neuroses.

Faith goes back to high-school for her degree after it comes out that she failed French and never actually graduated. But a note passed in class leads Sydney's new beau to think more about Faith than French.

Faith, in debt to her former studio because she "accidentally" set fire to a set the day she was fired, needs money, so Hope hires her as her assistant. A happy homemaker she isn't.

Hope's book-club meeting becomes a party when Faith crashes it, and Hope turns out to be a heartier partier than anyone could have imagined. Meanwhile, Charley takes the kids to the arcade and turns out to be something of a pinball wizard.

Faith meets a handsome and sensitive guy on Halloween. He's quite a treat, but Hope thinks he has a trick up his sleeve. Meanwhile, Haley has a "math date" with a nerdy boy named Edwin, thanks to Sydney, who arranged it (without asking Haley first).

A car dealer hires Faith for one of his wacky TV commercials. It's wackier than she would have liked. Meanwhile, Charley can't remember all of his and Hope's "cutesy, made-up anniversaries."

A high-school flame of Hope's is single again and back in town. He and Faith begin making some music together and that rouses Hope's ire. Meanwhile, Haley and Sydney make a hole in their bedroom wall while wrestling and conspire to cover it up.

Hope and Faith's playboy father Jack arrives for Thanksgiving with his latest girlfriend. She's "out of this world," he says to his daughters. She says she was abducted by aliens. Jack also has a surprise for Charley: he has taken up shiatsu massage, and his "favorite" (read: only) son-in-law is "customer numero uno."

A "big misunderstanding" (it really is) with the mother of one of the boys in Charley's basketball team lands Hope and Faith in an anger-management class. But does Hope really have a "Faith-management problem"? Meanwhile, Charley might be the anti-handyman, but that's not stopping him from trying to fix the garbage disposal in the kitchen sink.

A newcomer has taken over Faith's old role on "The Sacred and the Sinful." This sends Faith into a funk that's broken only when Hope tabs her to direct Hayley's holiday pageant at school. But her "artistic integrity" proves to be more than the kids can stand. Meanwhile, a bully takes Justin's winter coat, but Charley knows how to get it back.

Charley's brother Andrew is getting married, and their mother fears that Hope will ruin the nuptials. There's a history here: She blames Hope for wrecking Andrew's first wedding (the bride ran out of the church following a poem Hope read), and this one won't go smoothly, either.

The opposition to Hope's campaign for president of the Glen Falls Neighborhood Association is Faith-based: she insulted a man, so he runs against her. He'll find a potent campaign weapon. Meanwhile, Charley tries to engineer Sydney's social life.

A waitress becomes a colleague of Hope and Faith (they couldn't pay their bill). The reason they're in the diner in the first place: Faith wants to impress a director who's filming on location and eats there every night. Back at home, meanwhile, Charley crashes a party, only he doesn't know it, thanks to Sydney and Hayley's quick guest-disappearing act.

Charley's friend Kenny, who works for Doctors Without Borders in Djibouti, arrives for a visit and promptly falls in love with Faith. This is surprising to everyone and upsetting to Hayley, who has a crush on him. As for Hayley's boyfriend, Edwin, he's just crushed.

Hope and Faith crash a baseball locker room to get the autograph of pitcher Roger Clemens. The reason why they're doing it involves a misdeed by Justin. Meanwhile, Hayley handcuffs herself to her tree house. It seems that the tree in which it's situated has died, and Charley must cut it down. But Hayley won't hear of it.

Hope and Faith "date" two doofuses from their high-school class because they have promised to repair Charley's '67 Stingray before he can find out that they (and Sydney, who was driving it) have damaged it.

Hope has jury duty, and that means disorder in the court, courtesy of Faith, who won't take her rejection as a juror lying down. And before the verdict is in, her soap-opera experience will come in handy.

Faith's former maid shows up and Faith is glad to see her; everyone else has a maid they don't want. Meanwhile, Charley wants to join a "fancy schmancy" country club, and Hope, Faith and Charley do end up there.

Hope gets a job as a columnist for the local newspaper, and Faith wrangles one, too, but they're not exactly "cubbie buddies": Faith is driving Hope crazy. Meanwhile, Charley and the kids must take take up the slack at home. Their first project: making pecan sandies.

It turns out that Faith is married--to a man who lives in a trailer whom she hasn't seen in 15 years. It seems he never filed divorce papers, but now he wants to untie the knot. Not so fast, says Faith. She wants an apology before she'll sign anything.

Hope and Faith's dad and Faith's best friend, Mandi, share a May-December romance. This doesn't sit well at all with Hope or Faith, so Faith sets out to teach Mandi a lesson by hitting on her dad.

Faith gets back into show business, sort of--as a scantily clad jackhammer demonstrator at a trade show. Meanwhile, Sydney gets Haley to write a science paper for her.

Faith's surprise Daytime Emmy nomination sends the Fairfields to New York City for a reunion with Faith's "The Sacred and the Sinful" colleagues. They're not her friends.

On the day of the Daytime Emmys, the "new" and "old" Ashley Storms face off during a taping of "The Sacred and the Sinful." Faith prevails, but Hope smells a rat. Meanwhile, Charley makes his soap debut, and Sydney and Hope receive the attentions of soap stars.

A whole new Faith returns from her ""adventures"" in a country that even she can't find on a map. She convinces Charley to give her one more chance at staying, but no good deed goes unpunished. She crashes Charley's car, is responsible for her Sydney's navel piercing and ends up fully dressed in a freezing bathroom shower with both Hope and Sydney. When Charley wants Faith out, Hope is torn between her family and her sister.

After getting kicked out of the house, Faith moves into a furnature display at a local mall. When she and Hope try to hide from the mall guards, they're locked in an armoire scheduled for an overseas delivery. Meanwhile, Hope and Sydney help Hayley purchase her first bra.

When Justin is caught smoking and Hayley steals frogs that are ready to be dissected, Hope starts to worry that everyone will think she's a bad mother. This fear comes to life when Faith tries to rent an apartment from a lesbian landlord by passing herself and Hope as lovers. When their picture ends up in the newspaper with the headline ""local lesbians,"" Hope's bid for three time mother of the year is in jeopardy.

Charley's life becomes a living hell when Faith starts working as the receptionist in his orthodontics practice. When tensions mount, they make a bet for their most prized possessions and manage to ruin Hayley's science fair.

Hope and Faith receive an invitation to a Halloween party from their crazy next door neighbor, whom they terrorized as girls. Halloween turns out to be scary when the woman gets her revenge- by trapping the women in a torture chamber.

Hope and Faith play matchmakers for their father and their gynecologist, Anne. They hit it off, until Jack finds out that his ex-girlfriend, Mandi, is pregnant with his child.

Even though his true love is Anne, Jack decides to marry Mandi. He is unaware, however, that Mandi is very much in love with her current boyfriend.

To prove to Hope that she can be responsible, Faith practices motherhood on an electronic baby. It's all going well until she accidentaly exchanges the doll for a real infant.

Faith, in her wacky efforts to impress an attractive single dad (Nick Lachey)tries to make him think that she's also a single parent by claiming her young nephew, Justin, is really her son.

Thanksgiving day brings up memories of ten years ago, when Faith hosts a holiday dinner at her Hollywood apartment. She goes to great lengths to impress her parents, Jack and Mary Jo, including posing as Brian Austin Green's girlfriend. Happiness turns to sadness, however, when the family learns of Mary Jo's secret: she is dying.

Faith and Sydney get jobs at a clothing store. The young Shanowski decides to lose her virginy to the college-age manager, leading Hope and Fath to crash a frat party to keep Syd from making a big mistake.

Faith accidentally says that ""Santa"" is not real, and Justin overhears it. So Faith wants Justin to believe in him by climbing in the chimney, but those plans go sour when Faith gets stuck in the chimney.

Faith is attracted to her new neighbor, Gary ""the Gooch"" Gucharaze, a former baseball player. The notorious ladies' man, however, has no interest in her, leading Faith to go to great lengths to spy on him. The episode brings together Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, who, noy only played a married couple on All My Children, but are married in real life.

Auto dealer Handsome Hal refuses to exchange Faith's lemon of a car unless she can get former baseball star, Gary ""The Gooch"" Gucharez, to do a commercial. Faith tricks the reluctant Gooch, but later regrets it.

Faith feuds with The Gooch's ex-girlfriend, Carmen, for his affection. And, after overhearing a life-altering message for The Gooch, Hope helps Faith scale a mountain to deliver the news to the man she loves.

Wanting an an investor for her screenplay, Faith talks Hope in to starting there own Catering Business. So for there first gig the gals cater a party honoring Glen Falls' richest resident. When the singer is delayed, Faith pulls double duty to provide the entertainment, as she and nephew Justin perform a duet. So at the end Faith comes to her senses and gives up on acting.

Hope & Faith cater a party at a retirement home And Faith inadvertently helps a resident escape. Hope must work through trust issues with her capricious sibling and, in the meantime, help an escapee mend fences with her sister.

When Faith and Sydney enter a mother-daughter fashion show, Hope and Hayley's competitive spirits are stirred and they decide to seize the opportunity to strut their own fashion savvy. But soon the fashion race gets down and dirty when dresses are slashed, the designers get covered with spray paint and a fight ensues.

Part 1 Hope's life goes out of control when Faith submits Hope as a ""Wife Swap"" candidate. Hope gets switched with Cynthia (special guest-star Wynonna Judd.) Cynthia is a rich, spoiled, self-indulgent, Manhattanite. When Hope gets used to the fabulous life, Cynthia finds housework abhorrent -- but not nearly as abhorrent as living with Hope's sister, Faith.

Part 2 Hope finds it difficult living in an upscale Manhattan apartment with spoiled children, a work-alcoholic ""husband"". Also Faith finds it difficult that, Cynthia's live-in sister who does ALL the housework and won't let Hope life a finger. Meanwhile Faith's world is turned upside-down when she's ordered to do mundane, household chores by Cynthia.

Hope and Faith start to work at Sydney's school as lunch ladies, which causes Sydney to freak out. Things go from bad to worse when Hope and Faith begin to spy on Sydney, thinking that Sydney is involved in a romantic relationship with a teacher. Also Hope begings to change the household by eating healthy.

Hope is discouraged when her mother-in-law, Joyce takes over the household and also she starts to bond with Faith. And then things start to go more bad when Joyce decides to leave her husband. Making Joyce to move in permanently, displacing Faith in the process.

Some lies lead Faith to believe that Charley is having an extra-marital affair, so she enlists a reluctant Hope to help catch him in the act.

Faith finds a new career as a weather woman at a local TV station. Faith enjoys to be pushed around by a hunky newscaster. That causes Hope to feel that Faith is abandoning their new catering business, so then Faith feels equally neglected when Hope replaces her with a new, highly motivated assistant.

When Faith crack a tooth she makes Charley treat her, despite the fact that they despise each other. or do they? The nitrous oxide he gives Faith makes her "a little baby," and what she says while she's under is very surprising indeed.

There's a neighborhood Halloween party contest between Hope and her neighbor Trudy but what can Faith do when she is invited to Trudy's party as the date for Trudy's rather attractive cousin?

Faith is forced to pick up Hope's birthday gift for Charley after Hope is unable to make it. But Faith is too late and instead gets Charley an uncharacteristic shirt. Charley loves it and Hope fears she's too predictable these days. So Faith takes her to a strips aerobic class. However there are unexpected results when Hope prepares to shake it for Charley.

When Faith refuses to take her job search seriously, Hope and Charley suggest that she see a therapist - portrayed by Susan Sullivan - Who can help her straighten out her life. Faith resistant at first, but soon finds a way to use the doctor's advice to manipulate her family.

Hope and Faith are surprised to spot their dad, Jack, in town earlier than expected for Thanksgiving. His suspicious behavior with his companion, a young man named Jay leads the sisters to jump to conclusions. They soon learn their father is harboring a secret about Jay, which has a huge impact on their family ties.

When Dr. Lombard suggests that Faith channel her energy into a creative outlet, she signs up for a poetry slam on the same night that Charley is set to receive an award from “The Optimist’s Club.” Hope, who is busy preparing for the Great American Bake Sale, is torn between which event to attend. When Faith’s actions that night result in a rift between Hope and Charley, she concocts a misguided attempt to make amends, tricking them into a therapy session with Dr. Lombard.

Faith surprises the entire family with personal, extravagant Christmas gifts, including an expensive gold watch for Charley. When Charley realizes he forgot to buy a gift for his beloved employee, Hassan, Hope, inspired by Faith’s generosity, encourages him to give Hassan his treasured championship watch. Later, Charley is furious when he discovers that the “gold” watch Faith bought for him is a fake. Feeling extremely guilty, Hope insists that Faith attempt to retrieve Charley’s watch from Hassan, but in the end, Faith really surprises them with an uncharacteristically magnanimous gesture.

Hope is stung when Charley laments that their love life has been non-existent for weeks. When she confides in her sister, Faith tells Hope that it’s unrealistic to think married couples can keep the spark alive for years – only a sexy single like Faith can continue to have a sizzling sex life. Upset that Faith might be right, Hope invites Charley to meet her at a hotel. They have so much fun that their activities escalate, and they sneak around for days, fabricating lies to get Faith to do Hope’s household and parenting chores. But even as she puts her own love life on hold, Faith brings her unique style to her new domestic responsibilities

Faith is surprised to spot her ex-husband, “The Gooch”, in her yoga class, having returned from playing baseball in Japan. Although she is still attracted to him, she is shocked to discover he has adopted a Zen lifestyle -- forsaking his sports career, his car, his cell phone and sex for a life of celibacy and meditation. Hope encourages her to move on to other romantic possibilities, such as their attractive yoga instructor, Kiley. However, when Kiley and Faith get too close for comfort, “The Gooch” is overcome by jealousy and is forced to reveal to Faith the truth about his return from Japan.

Hope and Faith are shocked to find “Handsome Hal” working as a clerk at the local convenience store. It seems that Hal has fallen on hard times, having been busted for running a scam at his car dealership. After Hope chastises Faith for gloating over his bad luck, Faith invites him to stay with her while he gets back on his feet. Faith immediately regrets her compassionate act when Hal takes over her bedroom and becomes just plain annoying, but then the odd couple decide that her acting talent and his people skills make them the ideal team to audition to be hosts of the Glen Falls morning show. Will the duo have that perfect TV chemistry?

The Gooch is nervous about meeting Faith’s dad, Jack, who is visiting for Hope and Charley’s 20th anniversary party. After a rocky start, Jack and the Gooch begin to bond, so Faith is astonished when Jack tells her that the Gooch is not a good match for her. At the party, Faith’s efforts to spruce up the Gooch’s image in order to gain Jack’s approval backfires, and Hope is upset when the focus of her party shifts – as usual -- to her sister.

When Faith finally gets her agent on the phone, he tells her to have new head shots taken. Charley offers to take them, and the agent loves them. He loves the photography, that is.

Charley finds a skill of Faith's he can admire: She's a good bowler. So he asks her to be his partner in an upcoming tournament. Then he must figure out a nice way to dump his usual partner, the athletically challenged Hope.

When the sisters’ half-brother, Jay, hires Hope as the new sous-chef at his restaurant, Faith is jealous of their growing bond. Dr. Lombard, Faith’s therapist, says that if she wants to be closer to Jay, she should focus on him – and not herself. After struggling to do just that, Faith gets Jay to open up and reveal that the over-enthusiastic Hope is driving him crazy by taking over his kitchen – and he wants to fire her. Faith and Charley devise a plan to spare Hope’s feelings, but their ruse backfires.

When the family finds Jay depressed on his birthday over his last break-up, both Hope and Faith jump at the chance to fix him up with a new girlfriend. Hope beats Faith to the punch, introducing him to Betsy, her pleasant, unexciting PTA friend. But Faith answers back with her sexy, spontaneous friend, Amber, whom she’s intent on pushing on Jay. Although Faith initially gloats when Jay hits it off with Amber, she’s shocked and embarrassed when she discovers Amber’s hidden agenda, so she enlists Charley and Hope to help solve the dilemma.

Faith complains to Dr. Lombard (Susan Sullivan) that Sydney thinks she’s totally uncool and that Hope and Charley make her feel middle-aged. So when her therapist advises that one solution might be to change her living situation, Faith finds a place online and tells a horrified Hope and a delighted Charley that she’s moving out. Upon arrival at her new home, however, Faith is horrified to discover it’s a retirement community, but in typical Faith style, she quickly finds a silver lining to her situation. Meanwhile, Charley rents Faith’s old room to someone he thinks is a dream tenant.

After a loud, late-night dancing session by Faith and “The Gooch” pushes Hope and Charley over the edge, they suggest that the couple find their own home. Unfortunately Charley and Hope learn that a local real estate technicality makes Faith the legal owner of her garage apartment – unless she has paid them rent. So Charley tries to squeeze a single rent check out of Faith, but the truth comes out and Faith declares an all-out war on Hope and Charley to keep her place – and they join in an outrageous battle of one-upsmanship.

Hope reminisces with her family about the first fight she and Charley had during their courtship back in 1985 when they were both in college. Flashbacks to that fateful night reveal that it was also the first time Charley and Faith met. The fireworks begin when Hope cancels her date with Charley to go to a Huey Lewis concert, choosing instead to stay and console Faith, who is distraught after not being cast as the lead in her high school play. Both Charley and Hope think they missed the concert, but as the story is re-told, Hope uncovers some outrageous secrets that Charley and Faith have kept under wraps all these years – not to mention one last surprise that’s revealed about Hope.
