The future belongs to those who get up when I go to bed
Orelsan is a figure of the French music. But 20 years ago, in Caen, he did not consider making rap his profession. Singing about the boredom of the middle class in the provinces, that doesn't exist! The only ones who believe in it are his friends Skread, Ablaye, Gringe and especially his little brother, Clément. Camera in hand, the latter films him tirelessly.
If you want to make a movie you just need something that make movie
2006. Orelsan is a rapper from the provinces. To release his first album, he has to manage alone. The arrival of MySpace is a godsend. But he still had to find a record company. With his friends, always followed by the camera of his brother Clément, they launch a challenge: to make a video clip themselves, in Caen, and to make it broadcast on TV.
What I tell in my songs are clichés, it's not the truth
2008. Orelsan is now writing an album. But none of his tracks are radio-compatible. There is only one solution: to go and find his public by performing on stage. Orel and his friends, always followed by the camera of Clément, his little brother, manage to set up a tour. While everything is going well, a song of Orel resurfaces and launches a huge controversy.
We are the future
2010. One year after the controversy, Orelsan stopped music altogether. When Skread and Ablaye persuaded him to make a second album, the hardest thing was to find a way back. But the lost loser from the provinces metamorphoses and his second album is a triumph. Always followed by his brother's camera, Orel is ready to live his first real tour, carried by his very first popular hit.
I'll keep bullshitting until they take me seriously
2011. With Le Chant des Sirènes, Orelsan has changed dimension. As a king of counterpoint, he decided not to continue his solo adventure. He revived the Casseurs Flowters, the group created with Gringe in the early 2000s. But Gringe hasn't been rapping for years... Once their universe has been rediscovered, their wacky adventure will come to life on CD, on television and even in the movies...
I thought I'd wake up one morning and, be a man
2016. After the enchanted parenthesis of Casseurs Flowters, Orelsan wants to return with a new solo album. But five years have passed, rap has changed. New trends, new artists, is Orelsan still in the game? La Fête est finie is an opportunity to draw a line under the post-teen years and become an adult. The dazzling success of the album will exceed all his expectations...
